Smudge Spot Cory Catfish (Corydoras similis)
The Smudge Spot Cory Catfish, is a rare species native to Brazil. It's uncommon in the aquarium hobby, but it's in high demand because of the striking dark violet coloration it develops as it matures. It is a lively, brightly coloured schooling fish that is ideal for the nano, community, and planted aquariums.
The Smudge Spot Cory Catfish is a peaceful schooling fish that gets along well with most nano aquarium inhabitants, including dwarf cichlids and angelfish. It may prey on some smaller dwarf shrimp, but it is not dangerous to larger shrimp or other ornamental invertebrates. It is a scavenger that will live and feed on the aquarium floor, ideally be sand or smooth gravel.
